Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to appointments, services and use of the Port Hills Osteopathy website.

By booking an appointment with Port Hills Osteopathy, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under New Zealand law or the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights.

Appointments

Appointments are subject to availability and are confirmed once accepted through our booking system, by telephone, email or directly with our team.

Please ensure the information you provide when making a booking is accurate and let us know if any of your contact details change.

We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel an appointment where circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent us from providing the service. Where possible, we will provide as much notice as we reasonably can and arrange an alternative appointment.

Cancellations and missed appointments

We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice wherever possible.

Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or appointments that are missed without notice, may incur a late cancellation fee of up to the full consultation fee. Any fee charged will take into account the circumstances and the loss reasonably incurred as a result of the cancelled appointment.

We recognise that illness, emergencies and unexpected circumstances occur and ask that you contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.

Repeated missed appointments or late cancellations may require payment in advance before a further booking is accepted.

Late arrival

If you arrive late, we will do our best to accommodate you. However, your appointment may need to finish at the originally scheduled time to avoid affecting subsequent patients.

The normal consultation fee may still apply.

If you are significantly late and there is insufficient time to safely or appropriately provide treatment, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Fees and payment

Our current consultation fees are available through Port Hills Osteopathy or our booking system.

Unless otherwise arranged, payment is due at the time the service is provided.

Fees may change from time to time. Where practicable, changes will be communicated before your appointment.

Where treatment is eligible for ACC funding, the applicable ACC contribution will be deducted and you will remain responsible for any patient surcharge or amount not covered by ACC.

Eligibility for ACC funding and acceptance of any claim are subject to ACC requirements and are not determined solely by Port Hills Osteopathy.

Osteopathic treatment and informed consent

Your osteopath will discuss your presenting concerns, relevant health history and appropriate assessment or treatment options with you.

Treatment recommendations will depend on your individual circumstances and may change as your condition or response to treatment develops.

You have the right to ask questions, request further information, decline a particular technique or treatment, or withdraw your consent at any time.

Where appropriate, your osteopath may recommend that you consult another health professional or seek further assessment.

Port Hills Osteopathy does not guarantee a particular clinical outcome.

Patients receiving health services in New Zealand have rights including the right to be fully informed and the right to make an informed choice and give informed consent.

Children and young people

A parent, guardian or other appropriate support person may be required to attend appointments involving children or young people, depending on the age of the patient, their circumstances and the nature of the treatment.

Consent will be managed in accordance with applicable New Zealand law and professional healthcare obligations.

Privacy and health information

Port Hills Osteopathy collects and holds personal and health information where reasonably necessary to provide healthcare services, manage appointments, communicate with patients and meet our professional and legal obligations.

Health information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and Health Information Privacy Code 2020. The Health Information Privacy Code applies specifically to identifiable health information collected, held, used and disclosed by health agencies.

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information.

Email, text messages and appointment reminders

Where you provide us with a mobile number or email address, we may use these details to contact you regarding appointments, treatment administration, accounts or other matters relating to the services you receive from us.

Appointment reminders are provided as a convenience. You remain responsible for remembering and attending your appointment even if a reminder is not received.
